We are committed to being open and transparent about how we work, our decision-making processes and the services we provide and follow the Local government transparency code (external link).

Our data and maps (published under the Open Government Licence (external link)) are available for you to re-use as you like, including for commercial and research activities.

Some of our data has also been used to create maps. You can use a postcode search to find data in specific locations.

We are committed to combating fraud in all of its forms and promoting a strong counter fraud culture through our anti-fraud, corruption and bribery policy.

The following files provide information about our counter fraud work as set out in the Local Government Transparency Code.

Parking services

A breakdown of income and expenditure on the authority’s parking account and includes details of revenue collected from on-street parking, off-street parking and Penalty Charge Notices.

Council controlled car parks

A breakdown of the number of marked out controlled on-street parking spaces within the Wigan Borough.

Social housing

Details of the value of social housing stock that is held in our Housing Revenue Account.

Trade unions

Trade Union facility time; this is the total number of staff who are union representatives.

Brighter Borough

Details of our existing Grants information. This is a requirement and will be updated monthly or as soon as the data becomes available. The files are in .pdf and .csv format conforming to the standard format defined by the Local Government Transparency Code.
