Main roles and responsibilities of the Lead Member
- To support the delivery of the Progress with Unity missions and Council plan
- Support the Leader in aligning digital, finance and communications to enable delivery of council priorities and strong organisational performance
- Champion a resident‑focused approach to communications and digital services, ensuring services are accessible, clear and easy to use
- Promote transparency and understanding of the council’s financial position and performance, supporting informed decision‑making and public confidence
- To support our Community Wealth Building approach, including promoting heritage assets to encourage people to live, work and spend their money locally
Priorities for 2026/2027
- Engage and set the Councils budget for 2027/28
- Lead on digital transformation and digital inclusion
- Ensure promotion of Council activities and priorities
- Support the Council’s transformation priorities through the Council Plan
