To support the delivery of the Progress with Unity missions and Council plan
To support our veterans and members of the armed forces across the borough with training and education to provide them with better life chances
To support the delivery of health and wellbeing services for our veterans and armed forces members
To be a champion for our veterans and armed forces across the borough
To support our Community Wealth Building approach including supporting our veterans to access good, stable employment opportunities

Engage with businesses, schools and other partners to grow support for the Community Covenant
Delivery of our successful programme of community Armed Forces commemoration and celebration events, including Remembrance Sunday services and parades, and Armed Forces Day
Strategic input into the development and delivery of a joined-up strategy for our work with veterans
Advocate for the needs of veterans and the armed forces to be considered when planning and delivering services
Supporting the ongoing operational effectiveness and delivery of services to the Armed Forces Community
Lead Wigan’s contribution to the Greater Manchester Armed Forces Covenant Roadmap
