Reports to the Portfolio Holder for:

To support the delivery of the Deal 2030 priorities with a particular focus on the priority ‘Best Start in Life’ and pledges in the Wigan Council Recovery Plan
To drive forward the Community Wealth Building approach including supporting our young people to access a variety of education and skills pathways so they can achieve good quality employment
To support the delivery of our Climate Change Strategy, including ensuring young peoples’ views on the environment and climate change are heard and accounted for
To support the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people so that they feel safe and protected and that their welfare is promoted.
To promote Corporate Parenting across the council and the wider partnership so everyone understands their role in this agenda
To prepare our young people for adult life
To raise aspirations and supporting all young people to reach their potential
To prepare young people for work, education, or training
To ensure youth voice is included in decision making and service delivery
To empower young people to have their say and make a difference
To promote positive activities for young people.

To support the implementation of the key priorities set out in our Deal 2030 - Our Place, Our People, Our Future
Ensure the voice of young people is embedded in all aspects of council decision-making
Ensure the priorities raised in the Big Listening Project from young people are delivered including:
- Providing positive opportunities for young people to engage with their local community and do things that interest them, keep them safe and make them happy
- To be a positive advocate for young people at a senior level within the council and across the borough
- To champion opportunities for young people across the 14 towns of the borough and in all communities so no young person is left behind.
