Main roles and responsibilities
- Implementation of the Deal 2030
- Championing district centres as places people can enjoy, day and night
- Developing, diversifying and improving the local offer within district centres
- Improving the night time economy within district centres to deliver a diverse and appealing nightlife that plays to local strengths, aligned to the development of the borough’s cultural offer.
Priorities for 2019/20
To be developed through Deal 2030:
- Implement the key priorities set out in our Deal 2030 - Our Place, Our People, Our Future
- Supporting the Portfolio Holder for Economy in diversifying uses within our town and district centres to give people new reasons to visit and spend time in them
- Support the “Our Town” initiative to foster pride and build a sense of community in the borough’s towns, celebrating the places and people that make the borough great
- Take the recommendations and good practice set out in the “GM Night Time Economy Blueprint” and lead the implementation of these as appropriate in the borough’s town and district centres.
