Childminders must fill out a self-assessment questionnaire to provide details of the food hygiene and safety practices they undertake.
The details provided in the questionnaire and evidence submitted will be reviewed by a qualified officer who will examine the information to check compliance with food hygiene and safety laws. This is to ensure food is prepared and/or handled safely and hygienically.
If your business has received a letter asking you to complete the questionnaire, please complete the food hygiene self-assessment within 28 days of getting the letter.
We may contact you if we need further information or evidence once the questionnaire has been submitted.
An officer may still need to physically inspect your premises to confirm the information you have submitted in your questionnaire or in relation to complaints.
On the basis of the information provided or identified during an onsite inspection your business will be risk rated.
