Tenant feedback has helped secure funding through the Government's Social Innovation Fund to create our Mobile Living Room.
This makes it easier for tenants to access services, share their views and connect with housing teams in the communities where they live.
What you told us
Some tenants found attending meetings and drop-in sessions in town halls and other council buildings intimidating.
Travelling to council buildings was not always convenient or accessible.
Some neighbourhoods do not have community centres or local venues where housing services can meet with tenants.
There was a need for more flexible ways for tenants to engage with housing services and have their voices heard.
How we listened
- We used feedback from the Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSM) Survey to better understand barriers to engagement
- We successfully secured funding through the Government's Social Innovation Fund to develop a Mobile Living Room
- The Mobile Living Room enables housing teams to take services directly into neighbourhoods, rather than expecting tenants to travel to us
- We are holding drop-in events and engagement activities in local places and spaces that are familiar and accessible for tenants
- The Mobile Living Room is being used to gather feedback, provide advice and support, and promote opportunities for tenants to get involved in shaping services
Wider impact
-
- The Mobile Living Room increases access to housing services for tenants across our communities
- It helps remove barriers that can prevent tenants from engaging with their landlord
- It creates more opportunities for tenants to influence decisions and shape local services
Real tenant voice
It's much easier when services come into the community. Not everyone feels comfortable going to a council building, so having the Mobile Living Room in local spaces makes it more accessible and welcoming.
The Mobile Living Room brings services closer to where people live and gives more tenants the opportunity to share their views and get involved.
