How to donate

We know the people of Wigan Borough are generous and caring and want to help those affected by the war in Ukraine. There are many fundraising activities and appeals going on around the borough which is amazing to see.

People intending to make a donation with any local group are advised to check which items are most needed and if they are still accepting donations.

Greater Manchester response

A number of charities and voluntary sector organisations across Greater Manchester have joined together to launch a fundraising appeal and have collated key information for residents of all ten local authorities.

Cash donations

We have listed below the charities which are directly helping to provide aid in Ukraine and helping refugees in neighbouring countries.

You can help by making a cash donation which will enable charities on the frontline to quickly buy what is needed.

Donate to help animals affected by the crisis

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is sending emergency aid to two local animal shelters in Ukraine that urgently need help. Evacuation is not an option for shelter staff and the over 800 dogs in their care.
