Frequently asked questions

How far in advance can I book?

You can book a ceremony up to 2 years in advance. Please be aware that prices may increase on an annual basis so it's best to make sure you've paid the total fee as soon as possible.

Do I need to bring any ID with me on the day of my ceremony?

No, we have checked your ID at your notice of marriage appointment.

How many guests can I have?

It's up to you how many people attend your ceremony. Council venues have guest limits so you will need to check this before you book.

Are there any restrictions to music and readings?

You can choose any music or readings that you wish, as long as they do not contain any religious content.

Your readings and music choices should be submitted to us a month before your ceremony so that we may review your choices and let you know if there are any issues.

Will I hear from you before the ceremony?

Yes. We will send you an email a month before your ceremony with the final details and any further advice you may need.

How do I order extra certificates?

To order extra certificates see our copy certificate page.
