Become an Early Years Specialist Practitioner

The Leading Early Years Excellence Partnership (LEyEP) is a collaboration between Hindley Nursery School, Douglas Valley Nursery School, Wigan Council’s Early Learning and Childcare Team (ELCC), and Kingsbridge Institute of Learning.

The main aim is to develop and support excellence in the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). In Wigan, we want to promote a coordinated approach to Early Years System Leadership, supporting and raising the quality of Early Years provision and practice in Early Years Foundation Stage, across Wigan borough.

LEyEP Specialist Practitioners

Part of our approach is to identify outstanding practice within the Borough. LEyEP Specialist practitioners have been selected based on evidence of excellent practice, experience and continuous professional development (CPD) or involvement with research or project work worthy of disseminating to others. For example:

  • Early Years Professional Development Programme - Tutor/Mentor Champion
