LEyEP can provide specific project support to help you develop your services. This may be reviewing with you any development opportunities, plans to extend, setting up new provision or reviewing current delivery models for 2, 3 and 4 year old funded places including options for 30 hours. We can support you with marketing activities, funding applications, consultations and cost analysis.
It is important to us that your business is successful, and you are able to continue to provide childcare places within the Wigan Borough. If you are an existing childcare provider or someone thinking of setting up a new service we can support you with the following services:
- Ofsted registration
- Expanding an existing service
- Marketing
- Sourcing available Funding and Grants
- Business Plans including cash flows
- Recruitment.
Bitesize Business Sessions
Throughout the year, the Early Years team will be available via online Bitesize Business Drop-in Support Sessions, so if you would like to discuss any current concerns or issues that you are experiencing with the team you can just drop in and have an informal chat. SWOT Analysis
A SWOT analysis is a self-assessment planning tool that quickly gives a view that helps you identify and understand what the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats are to your organisation. It is a helpful starting point for a marketing campaign, can provide aid with management decision making whilst promoting thoughts on what short, medium and long-term priorities are for your business or project. Further analysis needs to be undertaken once you have completed your SWOT.

Funding Audit
The Nursery Education Grant Funding is delivered by providers who are registered on the Local Authority’s list of Funded Childcare Providers. To ensure you are meeting all the funding requirements and recommended good practice you can request an audit visit from a member of the Early Years team.

Cashflow Forecast Template
A cashflow forecast is used to support you to plan for your future business needs by enabling you to predict your likely income and expenditure. This allows you to identify potential shortfall or surplus funding throughout the year ahead or longer term. This support tool alerts you when to take appropriate action to maintain a sustainable business. It can also assist you to make an informed decision regarding setting up a new business or changes to your existing business.
Staffing Calculator
This calculator will assist you to identify the true cost of employing staff, including how much to budget for Pension and National Insurance contributions.
