If you're struck by the need to find something new to read in the middle of the night - and yes, this happens to us all the time - here are a few bits of the library service you can use online.

You can search for, reserve and renew books. You can practice your driving theory test. All here, all for free, whenever it suits you.

Online Library Catalogue (external link)

You can search online for the availability of any title in any of our libraries at any time using our online library catalogue. You can renew the books you've got out already, and you can reserve the books you want to read for a small fee.

Ask About Business

Ask About Business (external link) is a partnership between fourteen library authorities in Greater Manchester, Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen. Led by Manchester Library & Information Service, Ask About Business provides access through libraries.

With over 4 billion names in over 4,000 collections Ancestry is the leading resource of its kind online. You can use their family tree creator (external link) to get started.
