What opportunities can I get involved in?
What opportunities can I get involved in?
Our volunteer opportunities include:
Volunteer – Digital Support Champion (Wigan) (external link) - Many of our customers really want to be online, but they don’t know where to start. You will be patient and clear and will know your way around a keyboard and the internet, whilst also being able to pass your skills on to others.
Volunteer – General (Community Libraries) (external link) – These are our community libraries, and as such the type of role here involves meeting and greeting customers, issuing, returning and renewing books, digital support, shelving returned books and general library duties whilst working alongside library staff. You will be a good communicator, work well in a team and enjoy meeting people.
Volunteer – Events and Activities (external link) - Across our libraries we have a wide range of regular events, as well as ad hoc events and activities and organised visits. You will work with the library team in facilitating and making sure a great experience is had by those attending, showcasing the library and its benefits. You will be confident, kind and friendly and enjoy engaging new people.
Volunteer – General (Aspull, Ince and The Grange Volunteer Libraries) (external link) - These are our fully volunteer run libraries, and as such the type of role here involves meeting and greeting customers, issuing, returning and renewing books, digital support, shelving returned books and general library duties whilst working alongside other volunteers. You will be a good communicator, work well in a team and enjoy meeting people
