This training is mandatory for all new TechMates.
This training is designed to help you feel confident in delivering digital support to our residents. The training is divided into modules and will provide you with all the knowledge you need to pass the test and start you on your journey as a TechMate volunteer.
Key things to know
- The training should take approximately 1 hour to complete and includes videos with sound and subtitles
- Please complete all six sections of the training;
- Introduction
- TechMates explained
- Understanding learner needs
- How to help your learner
- Delivering digital support
- Safety and privacy
- At the end of each page, you will find a ‘Test your Knowledge…’ section. The answers to the questions included in this section will assist you in passing the test and give you a better understanding of your role as a TechMate volunteer
- Once you have completed all of the training modules, please go back to the email you received from our team and click on the test link
- The test takes approximately 5 minutes to complete but please be aware the test will time-out after 25 minutes
- The pass mark is 75%. However, don't worry if you don't pass first time, you can repeat the training at any time.
What happens after the test?
When you've completed the test, you will receive an email to let you know if you have passed the training. If you are successful, a member of our team will be in touch to organise your induction and provide you with a welcome pack and more information.
