Animal Welfare Regulation changes → 1st October 2018

On 1st October 2018, the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 came into force. This legislation significantly changed the way certain activities involving animals are licensed and regulated.

The legislation defines the following as licensable activities; Selling animals as pets, Providing for or arranging for the provision of boarding for cats or dogs in kennels and/or catteries, Providing for or arranging for the provision of home boarding for dogs and/or day care for dogs, Hiring out horses, Dog breeding and Keeping or training animals for exhibition.
