Housing Repairs and Maintenance Policy

In partnership with our tenants, and after formal consultation, we have developed a Housing Repairs and Maintenance Policy that will be rolled out during 2026/27. The policy explains the repairs and maintenance service you can expect from us and our responsibilities as your landlord.

It sets out how repairs are prioritised, the timescales we aim to work to, and how we will keep you informed about work being carried out in your home. The policy also explains how we will maintain and improve council homes through planned investment programmes, helping to ensure homes remain safe, well maintained and meet the standards our tenants should expect.

This policy supports our commitment to providing safe, warm and good quality homes. During 2026/27, we will continue to improve our repairs and maintenance service, using feedback from tenants to help shape and improve the services we provide.

We will keep our tenants updated on the implementation of the new policy and our wider work to improve how repairs services are delivered through our Tenant Focus Groups, Housing Advisory Panel, tenant newsletters, rent statements and our Tenant Engagement Facebook page. These updates will provide opportunities for tenants to understand the changes being introduced, track progress and continue to influence the development of our services.
