What is Early Help?

Early Help means ensuring the right help and support is available at the earliest opportunity for families.

We recognise that an increasing number of children and families require help and support to address challengers in their lives and to achieve their full potential as a family. This investment in early help and prevention not only provides support at the earliest stage it also reduces the risk of families requiring high cost, and more intensive, support at a later stage.

Building on our successful partnership approach to early help, the commitment and principles of prevention identified in our Early Help and Prevention strategy will strengthen this further – putting prevention at the heart of what we all do.
