Pupils with medical needs

Support is available for pupils if they are going to be off school for more than 15 days because of illness.

Further details can be obtained from your school, or you can contact us.

How it works

The pupil will be given a teacher from the Three Towers Academy (external link) who will work with them.

Teaching can take place in a community setting such as a library or a community centre, at home or, if needed, in the hospital.

Returning to school

Young people are encouraged to maintain relationships with school staff and friends to make going back to school easier.

On returning to school, more support can be offered on a short-term basis if it is needed.

This could include support in the classroom for young people with physical disabilities, or being taught in another area of the school if the pupil is anxious about going back to the classroom.
