New parks and streetscene delivery model

We’ve been listening carefully to tenants and have been developing a new delivery model for the Parks and Streetscene service, which aims to deliver a more efficient and effective service within our neighbourhoods.

The new delivery model sees estate caretakers, greenspaces and street cleaning come together under the banner of Parks and Streetscene.

It came into effect on the 1st April 2021 and we expect to see an improvement in the way our neighbourhoods are managed and maintained in partnership with residents.

What are the aims?

  • Remove duplication across services
  • Retain a dedicated team of estate caretakers to focus on high-rise and low-rise flats to improve the service tenants receive
  • Improve planning and coordination of activities such as grass cutting, litter picking and pavement sweeping through a single streamlined management team
  • Allow us to be more flexible and reactive to service demands e.g. fly tipping
  • Introduce neighbourhood teams to empower staff allowing them to have more ownership and take responsibility for their area.

How will we achieve these aims?

To achieve these aims, we will deploy neighbourhood teams made up of estate caretakers, greenspaces and street cleaning. They will be supported by an area supervisor and will carry out programmed work throughout the year.

The area supervisor will also have the ability to deploy neighbourhood support teams when required to carry out additional and reactive work, e.g. supporting community clean up’s, removal of fly tipping.
