Our Priorities

Building Resilient Communities

We will work together to:

  • Reduce anti-social behaviour and violent crime in neighbourhoods
  • Deliver the duty to prevent and reduce serious violence
  • Ensure victims are heard and supported effectively
  • Oversee the Prevent and Channel Agenda in the Borough.

Organised Crime

We will work together to:

  • Use local intelligence to investigate crimes that impact neighbourhoods
  • Work together to prevent/reduce the exploitation of children and young people
  • Create Problem Profiles that reflect local issues
  • Ensure clear roles for the Steering Group, Tasking Group, and Bronze Meeting and measure their impact.

Domestic Abuse

We will work together to:

  • Ensure victims, families and children feel safe, heard, and reassured by our delivery of our Strategy
  • Address the underlying culture behind our high rates and increase the early presentation of issues
  • Reduce high-risk cases
  • Enforce action against perpetrators

Multi-Agency Licensing

We will work together to:

  • Ensure that women feel safer going out at night
  • Apply for Purple Flag accreditation that will promote a safe night-time economy
  • Actively respond to problems at Licensed Premises

Youth Justice

We will work together to:

  • Continue to develop with partners a child first youth justice system
  • Prevent and reduce anti-social behaviour and offending (including serious youth violence) by children
  • Reduce disproportionality in the youth justice system where this is prevalent for certain groups of children
  • Improve the understanding of the health and education needs to improve the offer for youth justice involved children
  • Improve the offer to victims of youth ASB and crime using restorative approaches.

Reducing Reoffending

We will work together to:

  • Create an effective, joined up Probation Service
  • Increase opportunities to reduce reoffending through a targeted and joined-up service
  • Deliver an enhanced offer for young people transitioning into adult services.

Place

We will work together to:

  • Respond to escalating issues with targeted plans
  • Create neighbourhood models with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS)
  • Support the development of the family hub and early help offer
  • Set priorities with neighbourhoods based onemerging intelligence and engagement•Increase cohesion and support communities to help themselves.

Enablers

We will work together to:

  • Develop a Dashboard to measure the impact of our work and success
  • Deploy our resources collectively to tackle shared issues
  • Ensure we have quality data and intelligence to create a robust picture of demand
  • Develop a joint communications and media plan to ensure the public have confidence in our joint work.

Gender-Based Violence

We will work together to:

  • Support the delivery of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Strategy
  • Develop and deliver a local Strategy.
