Councillor, Portfolio Holder for Children and Families.
Cllr Dane Anderton is the Cabinet Member for Children and Families at Wigan Council and Chairs the Borough’s Children First Board, bringing together partners including Wigan Youth Cabinet, Greater Manchester Police, Public Health, and key services from the Children’s Directorate. He also serves as the local councillor for Leigh West Ward.
Beyond his portfolio responsibilities, Dane chairs the borough’s Adult Education Board and is Chair of Governors at both Newton Westpark Primary School and The Westleigh High School. He is additionally a member of the Governing Board of Wigan and Leigh College and the General Assembly of the University of Manchester.
Professionally, Dane’s background is in higher education and research with a focus on sustainable economic development and policy experience he is keen to apply to the Leigh Town Board forum.
