Before undertaking any environmental volunteering activity on council-owned land, you or your community group will need to request permission using the form below - we can advise you and potentially provide equipment.

If the space you would like to improve is privately owned, you will need to gain the land owner’s consent beforehand.

Please note that Wigan Council only permits the use of hand tools when volunteering on behalf of the Council on council-owned land. If your improvement of an area requires the use of power tools we may be able to assist you with staff support during the day.

Litter packs include litter pickers, hi visibility vests, gloves and bin bags.
How many people will be helping you to improve the area?
We may share this activity with your local ward Councillor who may be able to assist with publicity and support on the day.
