Our Town LIVE events

In partnership with our local communities, Wigan Council is proud to bring you Our Town LIVE.

This wide range of events is designed to bring entertainment, activities and much, much more to your local area as part of an exciting series of summer events.

We will be releasing more details over the coming weeks with more information available at This is Wigan Facebook page and Our Town, we hope that you will be able to join us for a great day out and fun for all the family.

Our Town LIVE events listing

Ashton BIG Summer Festival

 A family-friendly event including entertainment, activities, fairground amusements and concessions.

  • When and where? Saturday 21st August 2021, 12pm-4pm, at Jubilee Park
  • Parking - There is no on-site parking. We advise visitors to travel on foot where possible. There is limited on street parking within a short walk of the event. Please park responsibly
  • Food and drink - A range of refreshments will be available for sale on site. There are also a selection of town centre shops and cafés within a 10 minute walk of the event. Refreshments are allowed at the event but there is a strict no alcohol and no glass policy.

Please note there will be on-site toilets available. Medical provisions will be available.

Aspull / New Springs / Whelley event 

A family-friendly event including entertainment, activities, fairground amusements and concessions.

  • When and where? Sunday 22nd August 2021, 11am-5pm, Cale Lane Recreation Ground
  • Parking and travel information - The event can be accessed on foot from Cale Lane and Ashbourne Avenue on foot and by catching the 575 Wigan to Bolton bus. Please park responsibly
  • Food and drink - Some refreshments will be available for sale on site. There are also a selection of town centre shops and cafes within a 10 minute walk of the event. Refreshments are allowed at the event but there is a strict no alcohol and no glass policy. 

Please note there will be on-site toilets available. Medical provisions will be available.

Hindley and Hindley Green event

A range of live music, street performers, children’s funfair rides and community services.

  • When and where? Saturday 28th August 2021, 11am-5pm, at Hindley Market, Frederick Street, WN2 3BD
  • Parking Info - There is no on-site parking. We advise visitors to travel on foot where possible. There is limited on street parking within a short walk of the event. Please park responsibly
  • Food and drink - A range of refreshments will be available for sale on site. There are also a selection of town centre shops and cafés within a 10 minute walk of the event. Refreshments are allowed at the event but there is a strict no alcohol and no glass policy.

Pemberton event

Pemberton Community Association, in partnership with Wigan Council, HM Government and The European Union Regional Development Fund are proud to present fun packed family fun day in Pemberton Town Centre with rides, stalls and attractions for the whole family.

  • When and where? Saturday 4th September 2021, 11am-5pm, on Chapel Street, Pemberton
  • Parking - Free parking is available on Church Street Car Park. Please park responsibly.
  • Food and drink - A range of refreshments will be available for sale on site. There are also a selection of town centre shops and cafés within a 10 minute walk of the event. Refreshments are allowed at the event but there is a strict no alcohol and no glass policy.

Golborne event

A range of local acts, street performers, funfair rides and attractions for all the family.

  • When and where? Sunday 12th September 2021, 11am-5pm, at Peter Kane Square
  • Parking - Free parking is available on Railway Road Car Park. Please park responsibly.
  • Food and drink - A range of refreshments will be available for sale on site. There are also a selection of town centre shops and cafés within a 10 minute walk of the event. Refreshments are allowed at the event but there is a strict no alcohol and no glass policy.

Wigan Community Day

An open air display by local charities, good causes and community groups together with local authority departments and projects. There will also be a mixture of entertainment, funfair and community services.

  • When and where? Saturday 18th September, 10am-5pm, on Market Street & Standish Gate, Wigan Town Centre
  • Parking - There are several pay and display car parks situated within Wigan Town Centre. Please park responsibly
  • Food and drink - A range of refreshments will be available for sale on site. There are also a selection of town centre shops and cafés within a short walk of the event. Refreshments are allowed at the event but there is a strict no alcohol and no glass policy.

Site rules

Our Town LIVE is aimed at a family audience and operates a range of policies to create a safer environment. The following checks and rules of entry are in place at all events:

  • No alcohol or drugs are allowed on site
  • No glass bottles or containers are allowed on site
  • No restricted items such as weapons, fireworks or other potentially harmful items are allowed
  • Respect other visitors, staff and performers
  • Use the hand sanitiser stations available on site
  • Be Kind, patient and respect the social distancing that others may be aiming to observe
  • Do not attend this event if you have any signs or symptoms of COVID 19.

Our security team reserve the right to search visitors, bags and other items before entry and restrict access if necessary. If you need assistance please speak to a member of staff or security.

Our Town LIVE encourages the message, hands, face and space. Whilst the event is outdoors we encourage our visitors, contractors and staff to make the safest decisions possible. We welcome the use of face masks, we will provide hand sanitising stations and give you the space to remain socially distanced at every opportunity possible.

You can do your bit and take a Lateral Flow Test before attending to ensure the safest and most enjoyable day, helping to keep Wigan Borough safe.
