Wigan town centre regeneration proposals

Vibrant and thriving town centres was a key theme outlined in The Big Listening Project earlier this year, when we spoke to 6,000 residents and asked what’s important to them.

With The Galleries redevelopments moving forward and our success in receiving money from Historic England to bring key buildings on King St back into viable use, we’re keen to hear your views on the future of your town centre.

Throughout November, we’re asking you to complete a short survey, which asks questions about the town centre, The Galleries and Wigan Market, what you use them for and what you think could be improved.

Drop in sessions

Officers are also holding drop-in sessions in the former Down to Leisure unit (next door to Fifi’s) in Makinson Arcade so visitors to the town centre can ask questions and answer the survey face to face.

Drop-in sessions below:

  • Tuesday 5th November, 11am - 2pm
  • Tuesday 12th November, 11am - 2pm
  • Tuesday 19th November, 11am - 2pm
  • Tuesday 26th November, 11am - 2pm.

Have your say about the town centre regeneration proposals by completing our online survey.
