  • You MUST quote your billing reference shown on the front of your bill as the reference for your payment (or we won't be able to allocate it to your specific bill and it may show as unpaid).

Chip and PIN

You can also pay your bill with a debit or credit card using chip and PIN machines at any Life Centre.

Please note you will not be able to pay your Council Tax bill by cash at any of our offices. Please use your local Post Office or PayPoint outlet to pay by cash.

Post Office and PayPoint

You can pay your bill by cash, debit card or credit card at any Post Office or by cash at any PayPoint outlet nationwide. You will need a bill with a barcode on it to pay. If you already have one of these simply take it along and make the payment.

Corporate debt policy

The council has a corporate debt policy governing the treatment of debt which provides information and advice to customers who may be experiencing problems.
