Groundwork and Prince's Trust

About the service

Groundwork specialises in improving the local environment and people’s prospects. They can help you to re-train and gain valuable work experience and volunteering opportunities, particularly in subjects such as environmental work, landscape management, construction and horticulture.

Prince’s Trust Development Programme

Groundwork hosts the Prince’s Trust Programme in Wigan and Leigh, a 16 week personal development opportunity for 16-25 year olds. Working with others in a team, you can build your confidence, improve your local community, learn new skills and feel more motivated and gain 5 weeks work experience in a job you want. This is a great first step towards getting into employment if you feel you've lost a bit of your confidence and want to improve your CV and have things to talk about in interviews.

On Track

Groundwork also offers the chance to get involved in the On Track programme. If you’ve got no more than 1 GCSE at C-A* and are 16 or 17, you could get involved in On Track. You would get support and advice from a mentor, the chance to try out new activities and courses and get information and guidance to help you work out what you want to do next and support you into training or employment.
