Imago arts project

Imago grant logoImago is a talent development programme which seeks to nurture and explore creative opportunities within our borough through the delivery of an artist-in-residence programme, a series of workshops, as well as commissioned pieces.

Funded by Arts Council England and Wigan Council, we will  highlight quality arts provision across the borough, develop avenues in which residents can access the arts and raise awareness of our borough as an emerging cultural hub.

Following our call out to all local emerging artists, we received over 70 applications for the artist-in-residence programme.

Representatives from the library service, The Turnpike, Curious Minds, The Old Courts, Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles: Arts Team and Rochdale’s Link4Life were tasked with the difficult job of shortlisting and choosing just eight people to be part of the programme.

Over the next year, Imago will see eight emerging artists develop their own practice, in our libraries and with residents of the borough.
