One of the most important parts of losing weight is to try to change your ‘food behaviour’. Your relationship with food is one of the trickiest parts to dieting.

A good start is to consider your answers to these questions:

  • Do you eat when you’re hungry? Making sure you’re hungry before you eat means you’ll only take in the energy your body needs.
  • Eat slowly and enjoy the taste of your food. We all live busy lives and often eat on the go but try to take a bit more time to enjoy your food.
  • Learn to recognise when you’re full. It might sound silly but lots of us eat until our plate is empty so we aren’t ‘wasteful’. Feeling full is our body’s way of telling us we’ve had enough calories, so listen! Try a smaller portion size, or try using a smaller plate.
