Making Tyldesley dementia friendly at the Spring Deer Chinese restaurant in Tyldesley

Our aim by January 2015 is to invest £15,000 to make Tyldesley a more Dementia Friendly Community. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our first event on the 22 October at the Spring Deer Chinese Restaurant in Tyldesley. It was a huge success with over 80 supporters from Tyldesley attending along with the BBC who filmed the event as part of the Call the Council series.

There were lots of great ideas, but the most important things are:

  • have activities for people with dementia
  • their carers and their families to enjoy
  • a place to meet
  • accurate information
  • raising awareness

On Decision Day 10th December 2014 at Shackerley Community Centre local residents will take control of the decision making in their community by voting to decide which projects will receive an allocation of funding to make Tyldesley a more Dementia Friendly Community. So please come along to Decision Day - take a look at the project proposals on offer and cast your vote.
