The Gambling Act 2005 requires the Council to prepare and publish a Gambling Licensing Policy Statement every three years.
The current policy remains in force and a review is now underway in preparation for the revised policy to be issued for the period of May 2019 – January 2022.
The consultation period will begin on Friday 8th February 2019 until 5pm on Thursday 21st March 2019.
As part of the review of the Gambling Licensing Policy Statement the Council is required to consult with:
- The Greater Manchester Police
- One or more persons who appear to the authority to represent the interests of persons carrying on gambling businesses in the authority’s area
- One or more persons who appear to the authority to represent the interests of persons who are likely to be affected by the exercise of the authority’s functions under the Act.
A revised draft statement of Gambling Principles has been produced and your comments are invited on our proposals.
Any responses to the consultation should be submitted by no later than 5pm on Thursday 21st March 2019.
