Apprentice secures marketing role through Apprenticeship programme

Tyler apprentice at Burst Creative

Local design and print agency, Burst Creative, accessed Wigan Council’s 'Apprenticeship for Young People' programme to provide an opportunity for a local young person.

Tyler, 18, has since completed his year-long course and has secured a permanent role as a Graphics and Marketing Executive with the company.

As well as helping a young person climb the career ladder, the partnership has also brought new perspectives and fresh ideas to the table. Here’s what Adam, director at Burst Creative, and Tyler had to say...

Adam Jackson

"Bringing Tyler into the Burst Creative team has been one of the best decisions we’ve made yet. I’ve known Tyler for a few years now and our relationship sparked his interest in the work that Burst Creative do. Tyler has always been a creative individual, keen to sink his teeth into anything within his interests. Bringing Tyler on as an apprentice really opened this world of digital creativity to him.

"He loves a new challenge and Tyler even manages his own accounts and clients now and we are confident that his work will meet our clients expectations. We spent the first few months training Tyler up to our processes and the way we work and also the expectations that we have for our clients, which I believe is one of the reasons why we have grown annually for the last 6 years now.

"Tyler quickly grasped that and puts his absolute all into the work he produces. The variety of our work means that we’re either designing new branding, putting together a modern creative website for a client or even printing and fitting shop front signage. Tyler is always by my side producing high quality work throughout it all and it’s been a huge pleasure to have him as part of the team.

"Tyler’s apprenticeship has now ended and he’s a full time member of the Burst Creative team as a Graphics and Marketing Executive."

"My experience being an apprentice for Burst Creative has been pleasant from the start. I have learnt and developed an unbelievable amount of skills that I will have for life and can continue to implement within the company.

"I now see myself as a confident individual in the company managing accounts and clients from start to finish, ensuring they are happy with the quality of my work.

"Adam and I have shared interest in many things over the years, the main one being a challenge. I’m always up for a challenge and to step out of my comfort zone in a piece of work. I can only thank Burst and the staff for this.

"Hopefully, soon enough, we will take on another apprentice in the borough and see them have the same experience I had."
