Wigan Independent Advice Centre offers an advice line, surgeries out in the community, information for the general public: including casework in welfare benefits, advice and help with reviews and representation at appeals (housing & council tax benefit, industrial injuries, social security)
In order to get the best out of our service it is necessary to follow a few simple steps.
- First contact our advice line on 01942 324851. If it is out of office hours, then leave your name and and a contact number and we will return your call
- A Welfare Rights Advisor will answer your call and take some essential details. If necessary, you will be invited to attend an interview at one of our surgeries
- If any follow uop work is needed and you wish to attend a surgery it is important that you telephone the advice line leaving your details. This will ensure your case notes are available to assist with your query
- You are, of course, welcome to drop in to any of our surgeries if it is your first visit and step 3 can be used for further advice

Monday
- Higher Ince Community Centre: 9am - 11am
Tuesday
- Worsley Mesnes Drive Community Centre: 9am - 11am
- Sunshine House, Scholes: 9:30am - 11:30am
- Marsh Green Library, Harrow Road: 2pm - 4pm
Wednesday
- Dorset Road Community Centre, Atherton: 9am - 11am
- Golborne Clinic, Lowton Road: 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Thursday
- Pensioner Link Centre, 27 Charles Street, Leigh: 9am - 11am
- Suite 26, Rodney House, King Street, Wigan: 1:30pm - 3:30pm
Friday
- Platt Bridge Housing Office: 9am - 11am
- Ashton Town Hall, Side Entrance: 9am - 11am
