We know summer is all about getting involved in exciting activities, hanging around with your mates and having a
good time.

But sometimes what you may think of as harmless fun could upset other people, land you in trouble with your parents or the police, or put you and your mates in danger.

So Safe4Summer is about getting you to think about some of the consequences of the choices you make and giving you some food for thought..

If you are caught drinking alcohol on the streets or in the parks by the Police or Youth Offending Team, your alcoholwill be confiscated and your night could be cut short. If you're involved in anti-social behaviour you could end up in further trouble and your parents will be contacted. And remember, if somebody buys alcohol for you, they could also be arrested.
Did you know If you do something which is against the law now, you could get a criminal record for life. This might make it very difficult for you to get a job in the future. You might not be worried about that now but you might in a few years time when you need a job!
Did you know there is NO legal age limit to carry a knife – it is a criminal offence to carry one!
Did you know it costs £2000 every time a fire engine is called out to an emergency? Make your call count – don’t make hoax calls.
Did you know if you get caught with illegal drugs you could get an unlimited fine and go to Prison There is No such thing as a SAFE DRUG – all drug use involves some risk ….why take that risk?
Did you know the cost of dealing with a Burglary is £3268 per incident?......just think that means less money available to spend on school activities or to improve Park and Play Facilities!
Did you know that the temperature just below the surface of water in canals, ponds, quarries etc could mean the difference between life or death – even on a hot day – its not cold – its freezing! – Its not worth it!
Did you know childline gets around 30,000 calls a year from young people about bullying? Nobody Wins. Bullying is wrong and there ARE people who can help – call childline 0800 1111 for advice.
