Don't be a couch potato this summer...

School's Out! And it's time to GET INVOLVED... GET CREATIVE... and GET HEALTHY!

So put Mesnes Park in Wigan in your sights and try your hand at archery. Or if you're into traditional games, pop to the Turnpike Gallery for lessons in circus skills. Or if you're brave enough, learn to canoe as as part of a programme of canalside activities in locations right across the borough.

No matter how you want to spend your summer... whatever you want to do.... there's plenty going on and there's something for everyone. So make this summer memorable for the right reasons - Have some fun. Keep out of trouble. And stay Safe4Summer!

Lowton Alive, Sunday 21st August, 10.00am - 4.00pm

Lowton charity Compassion in Action is once again organising their annual summer community action day. The family fun day kicks off at 10.00am at the Lowton Civic Hall site, with street dance, samba bands, arts and crafts, barbecues and marching bands.

There are loads of youth clubs meeting over the summer.

Clubs offering a chance for young people to learn new skills, make new friends, try out new activities or volunteer in the community. If you live in Kitt Green, and you’re aged 8-16, visit The Hut on City Road on Wednesday evenings from 7pm. Or if you live near Ashton, make your way to the Salvation Army building on Wednesday 5th, 12th and 19th August where you can find out how to get involved in community activities.
