Review of the Local Development Scheme
Review of the Local Development Scheme
2.32 Since April this year, work on two further Supplementary Planning Documents has commenced in line with the February 2007 Local Development Scheme, on house extensions and most recently on buildings and structures of local architectural or historic interest. A supplementary planning document on trees and development has been postponed indefinitely.
2.33 We do not anticipate making changes to our programme for production of our Core Strategy. However, emerging changes to the Local Development Framework system means that it will be possible for Core Strategies to allocate strategic sites for development. In the light of these proposed changes, the need for an Allocations and Infrastructure Plan may need to be reconsidered. We are also actively investigating the means of developing a planning policy framework for minerals planning, and intend to introduce a programme within the Local development Scheme for commencement in 2008.
2.34 We are also conscious of a need to improve our policy support on sustainable design and construction. We may seek to programme a supplementary planning document on this matter under Policy EV3A in the Replacement Unitary Development Plan.
