We acheived 56.90%.

"Bigger is better" so we are within target range.

 

When we compare our 2006-07 results with the latest results (2005-06) for other metropolitan councils, we are in the best 25%.

 

Performance is better than last year.

 

Comments on our performance in 2006-07

There was significant improvement in 2006 with an increase of 5.1%. This brings Wigan close to the national average and ahead of statistical neighbours. Increasing focus is being given, by government, to the percentage of pupils achieving 5 or more A-C including English and maths. In this indicator Wigan achieved 41.6% and is below the national average.
