In Wigan North, the forum wants to see all its communities working together. It feels that the town centre is a really important resource for all residents.
A series of public art sculptures have been installed along the main transport routes in the township to brighten up the neighbourhoods and make them more welcoming places to visit.
Wigan Council worked in partnership with the Groundwork Trust to produce the sculptures which include a metal Wigan Tree on Darlington Street.
The forum recently installed a lamp post at Marylebone Park to lighten up a dark area following complaints that pedestrians didn't feel safe using the footpath.
Gidlow play area in Beech Hill has had a makeover thanks to the forum working in partnership with Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust. Improvements included painting and renovating existing equipment and fences.
The forum recently received funding to carry out a range of environmental improvements in Ince. Projects to date have included the tidying up of grotspots and the planting of trees. Over the next few months a wild flower garden will be planted, and the tree at Smithy Green will be lit up.
