Borough Life Summer 2006: Orrell, Billinge and Winstanley
The forum for Orrell Billinge Winstanley is keen to see facilities that meet the needs of local people in each of its neighbourhoods. It has a number of active sub groups taking forward projects and involving local people.
The forum has helped introduce dedicated pedestrian facilities, upgrades to traffic signals and planted flowers around Orrell to build a safer, livelier and colourful area for residents and visitors.
The forum has helped renovate the Grange Community Complex in Winstanley - due for completion in March 2007. It will consist of a library, community rooms and include arts and crafts, councillor and police surgeries plus youth club and Sure Start facilities.
Winstanley’s Grange Community Complex which is being refurbished by a partnership including the forum, and is set to be completed in Summer 2007.
