Campaigners against dog fouling mean business – and no messing!

You told us you were barking mad with owners who let their dogs foul your neighbourhood.

So we’re taking the lead and launching a major boroughwide campaign to remind dog owners in no uncertain terms to scoop that poop.

From Monday 23rd August, officers from Wigan Council, Greater Manchester Police and Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust will be conducting high visibility patrols across all ten townships, issuing fixed penalty notices to owners who fail to pick up after their dog.

Y a Z Card is Xceptional

Z Cards are a credit card-sized information leaflet, giving details on how to prepare for and what to expect in an emergency. They have been produced by the council’s civil contingencies team and are available across the borough – and handy to have in advance of an emergency.

Safe4Summer - making summer memorable for the right reasons!

School’s out - and across the whole of Wigan Borough loads of activities are being laid on to ensure young people stay Safe4Summer whilst still having lots of fun!

Frog Lane Recycling Centre Closure

Ongoing high traffic volumes and road safety concerns at a Wigan recycling centre has prompted the council to temporarily close the facility. The Frog Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre will remain open until Sunday 18th July and be closed from Monday 19th July, until further notice.
