Mardi gras spectacularDance through the Decades

Leigh Sports Village invite you to dance through the decades with them on Saturday 20th April from 7pm. Enjoy a mojito, bottled beer or soft drink on arrival, followed by a delicious two course meal (main and dessert). Then dance the night away with the help of our ‘Decades DJ’, who will be playing the best tunes from the 50’s right through to the 00’s. Awful-orchestraThe Really Awful Orchestra

The Really Awful Orchestra in Concert will be performing light classics, film & TV themes, along with a range of pop, rock & jazz, all directed by the wonderful Chris Perry.

Flashes of natureFlashes Festival of Nature

In line with National Nature Reserve week, this 2-day event is designed for you to learn more about the wildlife that resides in and around the Flash, connect with the amazing nature on your doorstep and to simply have fun with your friends and family! There are a range of activities across both days including guided walks, stalls, arts, crafts and more. Pennington Flash is one of the 13 of the Flashes of Wigan and Leigh; the only National Nature Reserve in Greater Manchester.

Armed Forces DayArmed Forces Day

This annual, family-friendly event is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, past and present. The day starts with a military parade at 11am from Civic Square, heading to the Cenotaph and back around to Civic Square, where you will find music and entertainment, fun fair and stalls plus an array of military vehicles on show.

Jazz festivalWigan International Jazz Festival

The Festival was formed in 1986 in response to the region’s growing audience for jazz and big band music created in part by the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra and is now one of the UKs longest running jazz festivals. Featuring many of the world’s finest jazz artists, many of iconic status, the event quickly gained a reputation for being one of the finest jazz Festivals in Europe. 2024 is set to no different, with a stellar line-up that includes The Ben Holden Quartet, Jeff Hooper & His Tri0, Paul Higgs  ‘Pavane’ The Steve King Big Band to name a few.

Robin-Park-MusicRobin Park Music Series

Wigan Warriors are proud to be hosting a five-night music series In July 2024, which will see Richard Ashcroft, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, James Arthur and The Lathums perform at Robin Park Arena. Wigan has a long, illustrious music history, and in 2024, the next chapter will be written with a huge outdoor concert series – featuring some of the UK’s most beloved and acclaimed live acts – to be held at the Club’s training facility.

The first ever North-Western Invertebrate Show is coming to Robin Park Leisure Centre…come and immerse yourself in world of Entomology! Diggers-FestivalWigan Diggers Festival

Come and celebrate the life and influence of Gerrard Winstanley and the 17th century Diggers’ (True Levellers) movement he inspired. On the day there is both a main stage and an acoustic stage, featuring bands, solo performers and poets. There is also a children’s area, a wide range of stalls along with a beer tent. Fringe events will complement this main festival throughout the year with guest speakers and performers. An amazing new family-friendly exhibition in the archives at Leigh Town Hall showcases the astonishing stories that make up the local history of the borough. There is lots to explore, from stories from Miss Weeton’s diaries of Wigan life in the 17th Century, to Leigh’s First World War Victoria Cross recipient; Alfred Wilkinson.
