Landscape Design

A well designed and maintained landscape setting is vitally important to ensure the success of any development. Ideally a site’s landscape structure and its underpinning design philosophy should be considered at the initial planning stage and before any major design and layout decisions are made.

Comment and general landscape advice is available to developers and their agents to help them achieve quality landscape submissions, achieve an acceptable standard of development and to help smooth the planning process.

We have prepared a supplementary planning document which highlights the minimum standards and quality of landscape design submissions required. It sets out the key landscape design principles which need to be considered by developers, including specialist surveys, tree surveys, access, future maintenance and management plans and Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS).
