Why do we need a Readers' Panel?
We know from experience that the best people to ask about how we can improve is by asking the people who use our services. Residents therefore are the best people to ask whether or not we are getting the information right. As a member of the Readers Panel you have the opportunity to say what you think about our publications, advertising, promotional work, leaflets etc. We need all of the publications we provide and send out to be;
- Easy to read
- Well designed
- Good quality
What Readers' Panel members are asked to look at?
We send out draft leaflets and documents and we like panel members to consider:
- How the information is worded
- How relevant and useful you find that information
- Does it answer all the questions you have
- How the material is presented including (both text and pictures)
Although we ask members to focus on the points above, members are free to comment on any aspect they see that they feel needs to be modified in order to improve the value of the leaflet / document.
What do we do with the comments?
Once we have received any comments and feedback we go through each one and try to incorporate them into the final article. Although we value every comment made at times we are unable to use some suggestions. This usually occurs when the suggestions would significantly alter the content of the leaflet / document so much so that the intended meaning becomes lost.
