Please note that if the information required by the checklist is not submitted with the application the council will consider the application invalid and not register or process it.
The checklist is in accordance with government guidance and will be used to determine which information is required for proposals on a case by case basis. However, in some limited cases there will be additional information that will be required to determine the application.
Examples are:
- A Crime Impact Statement to show compliance with Wigan UDP Policy EV3A.
- A Sustainable Development Checklist to show compliance with Wigan UDP Policy EV3A.
- A mining report issued by the Coal Authority together with a risk assessment relating to former coal mining activities to show compliance with Wigan UDP Policies EV1B and G1A.
It would assist if this information, if required, is submitted with the planning application.
Greater Manchester Police Design for Security (external link) can provide advice on how to produce a Crime Impact Statement and the Coal Authority (external link) can provide property specific information about former coal mining activity and other ground stability information. A North West Sustainability Checklist for Developments (external link) has also been produced.
The current information requirements are above. However, we are currently undergoing a consultation exercise to review and revise the local list. Please take the time to view the document.
Your comments are important to us so please take the time to review this and use the feedback form (.pdf, 20Kb) to let us know your views.
