The Statement of Community Involvement sets out how and when you can be involved in the preparation of Local Development Framework documents as well as being consulted on planning applications and development proposals.
We want to ensure as wide a range of individuals and organisations have an opportunity to be involved as possible. In particular we want to reach out to those who would not normally get involved such as young people and those from religious, ethnic or other minority groups.
Proposed Review of Statement of Community Involvement
Our current Statement of Community Involvement was adopted in July 2006. It now needs to be updated to take account of changes made by Government to how planning policy documents are prepared and to reflect our experiences from consultations undertaken to date.
We have started a review and invite you to put forward your views and suggestions as to what this should cover. Should you have any comments please forward them to us (contact details below) no later than 14 May 2010. After this date a draft revision document will be available and this will be subject to a further period of consultation.
