We recognise the importance that residents of the borough attach to the provision, design and layout of good quality open spaces and children's play facilities within and close to new housing developments.
This supplementary planning document sets out the council's adopted standards for the design and layout of such spaces. It also provides advice on when open space is needed on a new housing site, or whether it is required elsewhere within the Township concerned. It also advises developers on the scale of charges that will be required from them for providing and maintaining open space and off-site play equipment that is required as part of their development.
