Reviewing our existing employment land, making an assessment of the need for new employment land and premises and considering whether new allocations should be made or existing sites de-allocated is an important part of the ’robust and credible evidence base‘, that is required to support the Local Development Framework.
We commissioned Ove Arup and Partners (external link) in association with Littler and Associates (external link) in January 2007 to undertake an Employment Land Review for us. They a have a good track record in undertaking related studies in Greater Manchester and Wigan.
The study is being undertaken jointly with the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment. It was completed in January 2008 subject to an assessment of potential new sites. This will be undertaken on completion of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment.
