Please note: The consultation on our Revised Proposals and Draft Policies for the Core Strategy took place from October to December 2010 and this page dates from that time.
Our 'Revised Proposals and Draft Policies' set out two new broad locations for development, at the ‘M6 Motorway, south of Wigan’ and the ‘East Lancashire Road Corridor’ from Golborne to Astley. It also included a draft of all of our policies: 5 spatial policies and 19 core policies. Consultation started at noon on 19 October and was extended to 31 December 2010.
In October 2009 we had an advisory visit from a Planning Inspector, David Vickery. Mr Vickery’s advisory note (.pdf, 63Kb) sets out what we need to do to achieve a ‘sound Core Strategy’. We considered this guidance in the preparation of our Revised Proposals and Draft Policies.
