Who will pay for the service?
Depending upon your financial circumstances, the service provider will charge either the Supporting People team or yourself.
If a person receiving the service qualifies for Supporting People grant (or the service does not levy a charge to the public), the service provider will receive payment directly from the Supporting People team. If the person receiving the service is not eligible to receive Supporting People grant, they will need to make payments direct to the service provider.
How much will I have to pay?
Different services charge different amounts for the support they provide. You will be made fully aware before you use a service of what it costs per week.
Some support services are free of charge to the public and others are not:
- Short term services: You do not have to pay for support in short term services.
- Long term services: You will not have to pay if you are receiving Housing Benefit or if you are assessed under the Fairer Charging Policy as being eligible for assistance. Entitlement to Supporting People Grant is dependent on your income.
