There are two ways you can qualify for Supporting People Grant:
- being in receipt of Housing Benefit
- through an Adult Services Fairer Charging Assessment
If you qualify for Housing Benefit you automatically qualify for Supporting People grant (provided you sign a consent form which allows Housing Benefit to inform the Supporting People team of your successful HB application).
If you do not qualify for Housing Benefit you may still be entitled to receive Supporting People grant. This would only be achieved by Adult Services undertaking an assessment of your finances - please contact the supporting people team (using the information below) if you wish to apply for an assessment and we will pass on your details to the financial assessment team.
Supporting People Grant is only available in services where the service provider has been approved and contracted by Wigan Council to provide housing related support.
