Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Team

The Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Team is a service for all young people under 19 years old. We provide a free, confidential advice and treatment service to young people who are experiencing problems or have general concerns about drugs and alcohol.

The Young People's Drug & Alcohol Team provide access to a range of care and treatment services - from advice over the telephone, basic information on drugs and alcohol awareness, to care tailored to the needs of an individual.

The service provides access to a :

  • Advice, Information and Counselling
  • Assessment and Care Planing
  • A range of treatment options
  • Community Detoxification
  • Referral for In-patient Detoxification

The team also offers support and liaises with other services/agencies to help tackle any other problems that relate to drug and alcohol misuse.

We have a wide range of expertise on the team with all our workers coming from backgrounds in mental health, social and youth work. The team also includes a registered nurses and has excess to a doctor.

Referral to the service can be either self-referral or a referral by another service/agency. In order to access any treatment program the young person must agree to want help.
